Nonsurgical Orthodontic Treatment in an Adult with Skeletal Class III Malocclusion Using Passive Self-ligating System: A Case Report

Skeletal Class III malocclusion treatment is complex, especially when jaw deviations are serious. Camouflage of skeletal improves prognosis with a slight-to-moderate functional shift. This report presents the case 23-year-old male poor facial esthetics associated chin protrusion and an uncomfortable bite. He had concave profile, unfavorable incisor displays, protrusive lower lip, strained lip closure. therapy passive self-ligating (PSL) system through anterior teeth maxilla protraction arch expansion was used. After 14 months treatment, overjet outcome positive. The were arched, asymmetry addressed, convex profile no deviation occurred closed. Factors in using PSL low friction between bracket archwire, torque selection, significant dental ability. appropriate option treating adults to achieve normal occlusion pleasant profile.
